Meet Clementina Ayoung, one of Ghanas Top Women Cycling Champions sponsored by FC Group

Clementina Ayoung is a young and enthusiastic cyclist, bracing the streets of Accra daily, proficiently training to become one of Ghana's top Cyclist and a major contender in World Cycling Championship Races.

Tina is another of Fenton's Cycling Prodigy who also benefits from the MD of FC Group's mentoring and training during his many trips to Accra, Ghana. Clementina talks much about missing Fenton's involvement in her current training routing during this season of Covid-19 Pandemic. She was supposed to have participated in a Para Circle Race in Canada in February 2020 which unfortunately got cancelled and so has been focusing on building extra strength from the additional high-intensity interval training plan provided by Fenton.

Clementina, after finishing SHS, had great passion for football and played for one year before embarking on the craft and going to Cycling School for two years in South Africa in 2017. Prior to going to South Africa Clementina came 1st in the Tour of Ghana in 2017, after contesting in a 90km Criterium Race which had strong girls from other West African Countries. Tina told of pushing hard during the Peloton, managed to become part of the first Peloton and tried to breakaway many times but wasn't given a chance. As she was lucky enough to be part of the first breakaway Peloton she decided to recover and get a great sprint, pushed extra hard and striked to break away 1 km to finish. One girl from Burkina Faso also attacked and others followed, putting Tina in the 3rd position. About 600 meters to the finish line she managed to pass them all with a great strike, sprinting to become the first to finish.

Clementina also contested in All African Games in Morocco, a 120km Road Race in 2019 where she came 3rd and promised to train and work harder to become first in the next race. Tina also took part in the Track African Championship in Nigeria in 2019 where she came 3rd.

Both Clementina and FC Group's other Cycling Prodigy are currently training hard to develop as international athletes and Fenton has ensured they are well kitted with new road bikes, essential kits and training advice to support them, something that provides him tremendous joy! FC Group also supports other local cyclists to succeed at local, regional and international levels, part of its quest to engage in corporate social responsibility in strategic African countries it currently trades in including Accra, Ghana.
