FC Group Sponsors Vida Cycling Programme to Participate in the 4th Edition of 2021 Accra MTB Race in Ghana in December

The 2021 4th Edition of Mountain Bike (MTB) Race took place in Ghana on the 12th of December 2021 and Fenton was delighted to able to sponsor the girls at Vida Cycling Programme, a cycling charity for aspiring female cyclists, to take part in the MTB event.

According to Vida Juliet Vivie, the proprietor, “This timely and much needed monetary donation supported the team's participation in the MTB Cycling Event in Accra and we are very grateful to Fenton and FC Group for their continued support and donations". She took the opportunity to remind Fenton of the next major Cycling Event planned for February 2022 in Accra, for which they are expecting sponsorship from Fenton and FC Group to organise the event.

All at Vida Cycling Programme were delighted Jennifer Ametefe Dugbeza took the 2nd position in the adult women's category of the MTB race; for the 10-12-year-old categories Augustina Ameworlor took the 1st place; Confidence Sabah took the 2nd place; and Forgive Akpalu took the 3rd position. For the 13-15-year-old categories Tsatsutse Prinsilar took the 1st place and Ahiagbede Saviour the 2nd position.

It is a great delight to see young female cyclists compete and win in this sport, now gaining a great momentum in Ghana and West Africa, and Fenton and FC Group are proud to be part of this great initiative taken by the Vida Cycling Programme to support young cyclists in Ghana. FC Group look forward to supporting more community initiatives, including Cycling in Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya in 2022.

The Vida Cycling Programme is set on a 12 Acre site generously donated by a woman named Benedicta Ameyafo Ahovi, witnessed by the Chief of the Community. Track races of up to 1,000m tournaments takes place at the Velodrome, Frandkadua in the Asuogyaman district of Eastern Region, every month. Here the value of Cycling Sports for the younger generation, especially girls, in Ghana can be displayed. Young children in the community are encouraged to take active part from an incredibly youthful age. The bikes are supplied for all by Vida Juliet Vivie who conducts the maintenance of the bikes with Scott Darku.
